The Internship Experience: The Kennedy Center Internship Program is a holistic and rigorous professional development program designed to elevate the next generation of leaders in the arts, cultural, and non-profit fields. KC Interns spend a significant amount of their time at the Kennedy Center in individual placements, gaining valuable work experience, and technical skills in their chosen field. Additionally, KC interns spend 5-10 hours each week participating in the various components of the Kennedy Center Internships curriculum in order to increase leadership potential and fluency in the non-profit and cultural sectors. 

 

   

Internship Placement: Kennedy Center Interns preference a placement that aligns with their academic and professional interests, and work day-to-day in that department on long-term projects that will help them develop technical skills specific to that field. Interns also conduct informational interviews throughout their internship.

Eligibility: Interns must be a sophomore, junior, senior, a recent graduate up to one year post undergrad, or a currently enrolled graduate student, to be eligible for Kennedy Center Internships. International applicants are encouraged to apply with proof of visa. Kennedy Center Internships are designed and are most successful for full time interns. At minimum, Interns must be available at least 24 hours/week to intern at the Kennedy Center Monday-Friday, with definite availability for Wednesday afternoon KC Class.

Term Length: The Kennedy Center Internship Program hosts three classes of interns every year, one class per fall, spring, and summer semester. Internship classes are usually between 30-35 interns.
